BuffMother Lisa's Story

Meet BuffMother! Lisa from NE!

This woman knows how to hit it hard and be a success in whatever she does.From the moment I met Lisa through, I have been captivatedby her determination to LIVE life to its fullest. She successfully juggledher career as a chiropractor, and job as a mother of 3 young children while training hard for her first figure contest. (Which she won!) I know Lisa will accomplish all her goals because she stays positive and always gets it done!

Lisa’s Testimony

I think hormonal timing (HT) could be a major breakthrough for women’s fitness. I love it!! When I first read about it, I thought “this is so cool, it really makes sense.” As a chiropractor, I’ve taken seminars and studied a lot on the female hormones, cycles and nutrition. I think the key point to HT is that your workouts change as you are going through hormonal fluctuations in your cycle. The second half of the month can be a time of stress, increased emotions, depressed feelings, bloating, pain, etc. So having a workout that is less intense and being able to eat more calories just makes sense! Personally Hormonal Timing has helped me establish consistency. The coolest part is that HT is a long term plan, something I will do for life!! I have been following HT training for over two years now (began Spring 2007). I have completely transformed my body from soft, flabby and just kinda skinny fat after losing the baby weight, to a fit, athletic muscular yet feminine physique. Here’s my story. . . .

My youngest of 3 children was 1 year old. I had lost all the weight I had gained during pregnancy, but was left with a body that I was not happy with. I was skinny fat ~ Yuck! I felt and looked flabby, I wanted a tight muscular athletic look. I loved looking at the muscular physiques of the women in popular fitness magazines. That was the look I wanted. What better way is there to get the look of a figure competitor than to compete!

I was inspired and knew what I wanted, but I didn’t know how to get there. I started searching the web for any helpful information on competing. What I found would change my life! captivated me – Michelle Berger, Buffmother, was a mother of 4 children who had won 5 figure titles the year after having twins. When I found her site, I read everything she wrote and joined her private members area for women only, the Rally Room. I hoped that by joining the Rally Room I would learn more about what Buffmother did to transform her body. My hopes were exceeded beyond my wildest dreams! I learned about Michelle’s revolutionary Hormonal Timing training program that revolves around your monthly cycles and hormone patterns. I made friendships with other women in the Rally Room who also had a quest for health and fitness. Most of all, the women in the Rally Room gave me encouragement which motivated me more than I ever thought possible!

I competed 6 times over the next year in Figure and Bikini contests, placing high in all the contests. Many times I was competing against girls 10 -15 years younger than me. They were always amazed to hear I that I am the mother of 3 children! It was an amazing experience competing with athletes of that caliber.

Now, I am almost 40 years old and in the best shape of my life!!! I owe it all to hormonal timing, Buffmother Michelle, the girls in the Rally Room, and of course a lot of hard work! It is hard work, but it is sooo worth it. I love feeling and looking healthy. I want to set a good example for my children.

At this point in time, I am done competing for now (maybe in 2010, maybe??). Instead, I am excited to help train other women in their quest for health and fitness. I am now one of Michelle’s Buffmother Hormonal Timing Trainers. I am setting up online training programs and loving helping others!

Ladies, I am inspired daily by all of you!! You are such a GREAT, AMAZING and RELENTLESS group of women!!! Thanks for letting me witness your determination~Speaking of Determination, Lisa of NE is DETERMINED to kick some tail at her contest this FRIDAY (4-18-08)!!!Lisa is competing on Friday evening in Kansas City (technically Liberty, MO) at the NANBF Southern States Natural Classic on Friday April 18th. Anyone who is in the area should check it out!!!

To give you a bit of background on Lisa, she is a mother of 3 and a Chiropractor. She is also VERY tall, lol! She shares freely with others in person and on her website about how Hormonal Timing training has changed her body and life!! I am so lucky to have such a great friend in Lisa and have been so blessed through our training relationship. Last fall was her very first contest and she WON it!! I was such a proud mamma!! I am a super PROUD MAMMA!!! Last weekend I had a a FUN!!!! FUN!!! FUN!! weekend~ Two of my Team BuffMother! leaders LISA and SHERRY both did an AWESOME job by placing first and second in the NANBF Bluff’s Classic Figure competition I was so happy to be there The experience was just wonderful!
I’ve trained both girls in the past, Sherry early this spring and Lisa all the way UP to the contest!!!
It was really fun to show how amazing my Hormonal Timing program works for contest prep;she is a living example of how you can TRANSFORM your body by working with your hormones.
She is one of the 2 very first BuffMother! trainers….and is doing a spectacular job helping motivate and train the other 6 competitors in our group.

AND to top it off I got to hang out with another one of my clients and BuffMother! leaders, Lori during the contest!! It was GREAT!!

This year in February we started a special BuffMother! figure contest training group in which LISA plays and important role, she is not only a competitor but also a trainer.

I’ll be sure to share some other their stories with you in the next few weeks as their contest come up

~~~Lisa has done a tremendous job in adding muscle to her upper body since her last show which has helped to even out her symmetry and made her even more beautiful. I believe that on Friday Lisa has a great chance to come home at least 1 trophy if not more!!!

Let’s all pray for her to perform her best and for GOD to continue doing AWESOME things in her life!! Let’s all Rally behind her as a TEAM!

First blog post!!

Just a quick "hi" friend, Michelle Berger aka BUFFMOTHER, set up this Blogspot for me. How cool is that!??! Thanks Michelle!

I will be posting blogs and some pics, if you want you can become a follower of my blog.....look for it on the right side of this site!

Just a quick note about me.....I'm a mother of 3, wife, chiropractor, figure and bikini competitor, a fitness model, and a member of Team Buffmother. I'm 40 years old, and in better shape than in my 20's! Seriously!! :) I follow the concepts of Hormonal Timing which I learned from Michelle. There is a link to Buffmother on the right side ~ CHECK IT OUT!!!!

I've been lucky enough to be sponsored by Complete Nutrition this year. They have been wonderful to me. What a great company ~ I am loving their products!

I am competing in the Great North Fitness America Competition on May 15th . I'm doing Figure, Bikini, and Fitness Model Categories.....Very Exicted! Ready to ROCK it!



Hey girls! I'm alive, been a week since I blogged. Just been busy training, cooking, eating, posing, working, taking care of kids, running kids know the drill!

Feeling GOOD.....for the most part. Got a bit drained yesterday, think I needed more fat in my diet to keep my energy up! Hovering in weight from 146.0 to 147.0 was 147. Started the day with whole eggs, 1/2 and avocado and salsa. GOOD amt of FAT!!! lol Talked to Michelle as I got to the gym......always wonderful to talk to her! She's letting me keep my carbs to 3/day til Monday then we will see! she is also letting me take my post workout drink that i'm loving from complete nutrition (rezzerct) til monday ~ its yummy and really helps me recooperate after a workout when feeling depleted! I did a lil happy dance when she told me i could keep on it! hahaha

Got my new bikini, its a gorgeous rasberry color, waiting on my figure suit.....I'll take new pics next Monday. I'll try and post pics then. Going to get bags organized this weekend, lots to pack since kids are coming with us to minneapolis for my competition !
